get on your boots

Maeby recently acquired a pair of rubber rain boots, which have fast become her new favorite shoes. Not only are they to be worn outside at all times, but they are often a neccessity for navigating around the living quarters themselves, and if not on the feet then at least they are in-hand and cuddled affectionately.

Here are a few pictures we took of her on her first outing in said wonder-boots.

We bought her a size 5-6, so they'll last a bit longer (she's still a 4); thus, they tend to fall off from time to time.

She has discovered the salty green joy of play-dough (yes, she ate some, but we weren't able to get any pictures of it.)

Strawberries and Cream

Mae had her first taste of strawberries and cream today. Pictures aplenty:

We weren't planning on pushing the potty-training. We figured, when she's ready, she'll let us know.

Well, as of late, Mae's been trying to change her own diapers a lot, and always coming to tell us before she defecates, so we figured - why not give it a shot?

That was Monday.

Today - at 6:39 PM pacific standard time, Maeby Jurgens grabbed her mama's hand, pulled her into the bathroom, put the potty-seat on the toilet herself, asked to have her diaper removed, and then sat on that sucker and urinated contentedly. Three times.

She also wiped herself, at her own volition and without prompting.

Needless to say, we were thrilled, took several pictures, and sang a celebratory song and clapped and cheered.
