Christmas Festival Lake Jackson 2011

Last weekend was Lake Jackson's Festival of Lights which is the big kick off to all of the Christmas events in the area. Its a really fun free family event that had LOTS to do.

There were probably about a dozen different Bouncy Play things:

There were booths with animal adoptions and the Wildlife refuge people there with various reptiles for people to see and touch.

Maeby's favorite was the bungee jumping. I was really proud of her being very patient waiting in line for what seemed to me like an eternity. She had a blast!

The highlight was the fake "snow" which was really just a bunch of shaved ice. But the kids could play in it and go sledding down their hill.

NOTE: we are not horrible parents - it was 85 degrees out which is why Maeby is in a t-shirt

We were all too exhausted to stick around for the light parade and Christmas tree lighting etc. but we can drive around town to see them each night if we want. It was a good time :)

Sea Center Again

Last week we went to the Sea Center here in Lake Jackson. We randomly ran into a friend from church so Maeby had even more fun playing with him.

If you look where the rushes have been bent - alligators did that. We didn't see any alligators there that day though (which is JUST FINE!)

Random Happenings

Georgie has decided she likes to suck her fingers more than anything.

Maeby tried to feed Georgie a bottle one day. It actually went pretty well.

I was cleaning the car seats and Maeby decided she needed to move her's to the couch, buckle herself in and watch cartoons. I decided this was ok with me.

Smiles, giggles, belly laughs are all we get from this little girl these days and we LOVE it!

I went in to check on Maeby during a nap one day and found her passed out, I'm assuming suddenly in the middle of what she was working on:

The weather is finally cooled off enough we can play outside and the fire ants and mosquitoes seem to be at bay so we get to spend more time at parks.

One day Georgie, who loves to sit up (although she can't do it on her own yet) fell asleep on the couch like this and stayed there for over an hour. She had been watching the fan go around and around and eventually just drifted off.

Rainbow Connection

We won tickets to a sneak preview of "The Muppets"! It was just Maeby, Jeremy and I and we had a blast!

Since we were special we got wrist bands that apparently made Maeby have super powers...

I'd also made her a Muppet shirt for Christmas but since we won tickets, I gave it to her early. She LOVES it!

The movie is AWESOME and hearkens back to early Muppet movies and keeps true to them as characters well. There was a new Toy Story short before the film as well which was hilarious! I won't spoil it, but we'll just say two words "toy therapy" yup.

It was hard to leave Georgie (1st time being left for an extended amount of time) but she did great and I know this is special date with just Mama and Papa is something Maeby will remember for a long time.

Halloween 2011

This was the best Halloween I think I've ever had! We had so much fun doing everything Halloween this year.

and dressed up to go Trick-or-Treating

It was just a lot of fun together as a family, having a blast. It was especially fun to be able to go Trick-or-Treating in shorts and t-shirts with no rain or snow, just clear night sky!
