Maeby's Dream
For preschool we talked about Martin Luther King Jr and why we celebrate his birthday. I asked each of the kids what their dream was for the world.

Star Wars IV
Maeby watched Episode IV for the first time last Sunday and fell in love. She had checked out a who's-who of Star Wars from the library and kept having to check her book.
The best part was during the big battle at the end, just before Luke blows up the Death Star Maeby yells out "Hey! Where are all the angry birds!"
She's already begging to watch it again!
January Beach!
One of the few things we really like about Texas is that we can go to the beach pretty much year-round. It was over 80 degrees the other day and the girls and I joined in a fair well party for one of our Lake Jackson friends down in Seaside.
Maeby's Puppet Show
We went to the library last week and Maeby decided we needed several puppet shows. This one was my favorite!
Mindy!
Our good friend Mindy came to see us for Jeremy's 31st birthday and this is what we saw!
At the Brazoria Wildlife Refuge:
At the Brazoria Wildlife Refuge:
a ton of birds:
and about 6-7 Allegators
At the Sea Center we saw:
an adorable little walking buddy
and lots of birds
At home we made:
Our Family Quote & hung recent family photos on our wall
AND...made Jeremy a pumpkin, white chocolate cheesecake for his Birthday
It was an all too short trip, but sooo good to have our best friend here even if it was only for a few days. There was so much more we wished we could have done, but on a trip out to the beach an embankment Jeremy and Maeby were on collapsed underneath them, breaking two of Jeremy's ribs soooo....that made things a bit difficult, but nonetheless, we made the most of it and had a ball!
Christmas 2013 - Stanwood
The last half of our adventurous Pacific Northwest Trip was up to my hometown of Stanwood, Washington. We rode the train from Portland to Seattle which was a new adventure for Georgie and Jeremy and was a blast! The girls liked being able to go up and down the train and eat and watch movies while Jeremy and I liked that they could do all those things and we could just sit back and relax.
Home was a site for sore eyes! My nephews willingly gave up their bedroom for us and slept outside in the camper which was a huge blessing to us. We were there for two weeks and had the best of times!
Making cookies!
Getting to see Uncles Pete who we haven't seen in over 2 years, and playing with Jazmine
Spending time with Great Grandma Jan and playing on her "rebounder" and watching her "Who Who Clock"
One of our favorite nights was when we went to Seattle like when we were kids. We rode the monorail....
Went on the Carousel outside West Lake

And paid a visit to the train at the science center followed by driving through candy cane lane in Seattle and looking at all the cool Christmas lights.
We spent Christmas Eve at some friend's house and played TONS of games. Uncle Peter gathered all the kids together and put on a spectacular play involving disgruntled elves and machine guns and something about Taco Bell....
Christmas morning was so much fun with our cousins. Opening lots of presents and spending good time together. Unfortunately, we didn't get many pictures since we were too busy playing with all our new toys!
One of the best parts of the morning was Maeby discovering Pop Rocks for the first time.
Mostly, we hung out, played, just relaxed and had fun.
New Years Day we went down to Kayak Point and took pictures and played on the playground.
We wished we could have stayed for much longer - although I'm sure our hosts were ready to have us out of their house! We are so blessed and Thankful to everyone who helped make our adventurous trip a reality.

Christmas 2013 - Mt. Hood
The next part of our adventure was getting to stay in a cabin up on Mt. Hood with the Jurgens Family. Despite all of us getting extremely sick, we were able to have a wonderful, memorable time that I know we'll look back on with fondness.
Decorating the cabin for Christmas
making - and then snitching gingerbread houses
Opening presents as a family
Playing in the snow - especially snow tubing at SkiBowl!
A great time together for the holidays. We don't get to see these guys nearly enough now that we live in Texas. What a special opportunity we had to be together.
