Father's Day Camping Trip at South Beach

Over Father's Day weekend we met up with Jeremy's Brother & his family and his aunt and two of her daughters in South Beach for a weekend camping trip.

We had all kinds of weather (in true Oregon fashion) but had a ton of fun anyway!

Actual Father's Day was nice and comfortably warm and we had lots of fun playing on the beach together.

The Saturday was a little rainy but not too cold. We went for a hike at Cape Perpetua and saw some stuff we'd never seen before there. We also saw a whale and quite a few Sea Lions swimming around.

Maeby is pouting because her mama wouldn't let her go climbing on the cliffs that drop straight off into the ocean. I know, I'm a mean mom

It was fun. For more pictures you can view the slideshow here.

Memorial Day Visit to the Cemetary

This past memorial day we stopped by the cemetery in Salem where Jeremy's dad is buried.

Enchanted Forest

On memorial day we took Maeby to Enchanted Forest for the first time.

She liked the train ride

She LOVED the bumper boats

She liked the slide - ONLY so far as she didn't have to see the witch's face or look at anything witch-related.

She was skeptical of the characters she found but most of the time would be ok walking past them

She had fun overall and says she likes "that special park" even though mostly there was a lot of crying and NOT wanting to move for fear of everything she saw.

It was an interesting experiment in theme parks, but at least we now know what scares her and what she loves.

Wild Animal Safari

Several weeks ago we went to the Wildlife Safari down in Winston, OR. It was TOTALLY worth the drive!

You can drive through twice. The first time the Grizzly Bears were closed due to a "Teddy Bear Picnic" that day, but the second time we went through they were all playing and wrestling and it was the coolest thing ever to watch.

We decided to do the elephant encounter since Maeby LOVES elephants so much. It was awesome. We got to pet and feed one of the elephants and watch as it painted some pictures.

We can't wait until we go back again. It was so much fun.

Pet Day @ OSU

A few weeks ago OSU hosted their annual Pet Day. Its a day where organizations and people from around the area bring a variety of domesticated animals and talk about care, adoption, you name it. There are animals of all kinds from farm animals, to dogs to snakes etc. The goal is to educate people on how to care for animals that rely on humans for their survival etc etc. For us, it was just a lot of fun to walk around and see and play with all kinds of animals - like a free zoo day.
